Coaching, Not Therapy
The line, in plain words
Everbecome is a practice, not treatment.
Guides are teachers. They are not therapists, counselors, psychiatrists or doctors, and they do not diagnose, treat, or prescribe. Nothing on Everbecome is medical advice.
If you are struggling with your mental health, please see a professional. If you are in danger, use the numbers on our Crisis Resources page or your local emergency service.
Being part of a community that takes you seriously is worth a great deal. It is not a replacement for care.
What this means for Guides
A Guide may teach, set practices, and speak from their own experience. A Guide may not:
- describe what they do as therapy, treatment, counseling or healing of a medical kind
- diagnose a member, or tell a member what condition they have
- advise a member on medication — including suggesting they stop
- take on a member in acute crisis as a coaching relationship instead of directing them to help
This is a term of the Guide agreement, not a guideline.
A Guide who holds a professional or clinical license is still acting as an Everbecome Guide here, not as your clinician, unless a separate professional relationship exists outside Everbecome.
What this means for us
Crisis support. When something you write suggests that you may be in danger, Everbecome may provide crisis resources privately and may flag the content for human review. This is signposting to emergency and professional resources, not a clinical assessment or emergency-response service.
Everbecome does not monitor members for medical conditions, assess suicide or self-harm risk, provide emergency intervention, or provide medical or mental-health treatment. Do not rely on Everbecome to identify an emergency or to summon help for you. Posts and check-ins are not continuously monitored as an emergency service. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency service or an appropriate crisis service.
